As the business scales, the CEO is looking for a strategic and analytic-minded executive with prior consulting experience who is willing to roll up their sleeves to build the consulting services arm of the business and lead strategic analysis to support broad business growth. Position Summary:

The Director of Strategy & Consulting Services will build out KAGR's consulting services capabilities, as well as provide strategic analysis and guidance for the growth of KAGR. The Director will manage clients on strategic evaluations around data, technology and analytics for the sports & entertainment industry. Additionally, the Director will advise KAGR's technology platforms clients on using data to drive business decisions. Critical to Director's success is the ability to be an operator and strategist. Specifically, the Director must be able to synthesize, analyze, and distill vast amounts of information to clearly define issues and present recommendations to client.

Consulting Services

Consulting Capabilities

  • Build a team and consulting capabilities to drive client decision-making using data
  • Lead projects, manage staff (including cross-department teams), and serve as primary contact with clients to deliver recommendations
  • Understand clients' current needs/challenges, including technical, resources and strategy
  • Document issues, opportunities and understand business and technology landscape
  • Drive analysis and data collection via client data or primary research to define business strategy and recommendations
  • Ability to leverage internal resources to define technical architecture, limitations and means to improve in collaboration with internal KAGR team
  • Define potential organizational structures, data governance process and business drivers to payback investment
  • Define strategies and present findings for Senior Executive-level clients
     


Client Relationships

  • Owns the delivery of projects to clients, ensuring engagements are completed on-time, to standard, within budget, and with a high-level of client satisfaction
  • Develop detailed project management plans with strong cadence of check-ins and reviews with client point person
  • Ability to hear client's challenges and translate to projects and recommendations
  • Create strong working relationships and high retention of business
     

Team Development

  • Oversees multiple project delivery teams in the execution of defined methodologies to meet engagement requirements and expectations
  • Leads assigned consulting resources -- both direct reports and delivery teams - to drive individual performance metrics and to develop required skillsets for assigned associates
  • Define hiring needs, recruit and onboard staff
  • Collaborate on client business development, RFP responses, and development of cost estimates to ensure profitability of engagements
  • Contributes to business strategy and budgetary planning
     

Strategy

Business Development

  • Support in business development efforts for Consulting Services
  • Assist in ongoing overarching business development strategy with respect to targets, industries, etc
  • Develop proposals and pricing templates and structure. Ensure consistency and tracking of pricing
  • Develop analytic and strategic marketing cases to drive client success and usage of KAGR product
     

KAGR Development

  • As business dictates, provide strategic and analytic support on new business evaluation, budgeting, and other needs
  • Identify needs and support CEO in ongoing growth and scaling of the business
  • Drive internal strategy projects
     

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in business, quantitative discipline, finance, economics, liberal arts.MBA degree preferred or work equivalent.
  • Prior consulting experience required
  • 7-10 years experience with a focus on technology, analytics & database management (specifically, relational databases, data quality/ mining, process design and mapping of data and data flows)
  • Experience managing teams and leading engagements in a consulting organization
  • Strategic and analytic mindset to evaluate business situations, develop solutions, and process/project management
  • Clear and concise in communicating information, with the ability to actively listen to what others are saying
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Must be detail-oriented, proactive and an inquisitive thinker
  • Ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency and troubleshoot with purpose
  • Flexibility and ability to juggle multiple projects and changing priorities in a fast-paced, customer centric environment
  • Cross-functional department working experience
  • Knowledge and experience with SQL and R a plus
  • Team player who is coachable and wants to learn
